PM may have to accept soft Brexit if Commons backs it, says minister

Theresa May may have to consider the possibility of a softer Brexit if Parliament supports it says justice secretary David Gauke. Speaking on BBC’s the Andrew Marr Show he said that “If parliament is voting overwhelmingly against leaving the European Union without a deal but is voting in favour of a softer Brexit, then I don’t think it’s sustainable to ignore parliament’s position and therefore leave without a deal.’ He insisted that the PM will have to ‘look very closely’ if MPs back a customs union
