Michael Avenatti: ‘I will be fully exonerated and justice will be done’
Bulldog barrister Michael Avenatti was busted Monday for threatening to smear Nike’s reputation if the sneaker company didn’t cough up $22.5 million.
The loudmouth litigator — who made his name representing porn star Stormy Daniels in her legal battle with President Trump and Michael Cohen — was arrested in Manhattan after leaving the office of a Nike lawyer.
As Manhattan Federal prosecutors announced the four extortion charges, prosecutors in California slapped Avenatti with separate financial fraud charges that carry a maximum of 50 years in prison.
