Hammond won’t rule out a second EU referendum
The chancellor Philip Hammond says a fresh public vote is a “perfectly coherent proposition” but warns against ousting Theresa May.
The Prime Minister has been meeting MPs at Chequers as the Brexit crisis and questions around her leadership deepen.
David Lidington, who has been named as a potential caretaker replacement for the PM, says he has no wish to takeover from her.
