New Zealand PM Ardern Attends Friday Prayers Commemorating Christchurch Victims
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern joined thousands of New Zealanders gathered in Christchurch for the Muslim call to prayer, followed by two minutes of silence. This marks a week since 50 people were gunned down at two mosques in the city.
The gunman “broke the hearts of millions around the world,” said Imam Gamal Fouda, who was leading prayers.
“Today, from the same place, I look out and I see the love and compassion,” he said. “New Zealand is unbreakable.”
