Desperate Venezuelans Struggle to Find Water in the Coastal State of Vargas and in Caracas

Venezuelans in the coastal state of Vargas said on Wednesday, March 13, that they had been without water for a month and spend their days queueing at a water plant to fill up containers.
The lack of water has become one of the most severe results of the nationwide blackout. President Nicolas Maduro has claimed the chaos is a result of U.S.-backed sabotage, but his critics call it the product of his government’s corruption and incompetence.
In Caracas, Venezuelans from working-class neighborhoods to upscale apartment towers are complaining the uncertainty of water and electricity means increasingly infrequent showers, unwashed dishes and stinking toilets. (Reuters)
