Matthew McConaughey Serves Meals to First Responders Battling California Wildfires
Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey was among those serving meals to first responders battling wildfires in Los Angeles, Friday, November 1, as the organization Operation BBQ Relief began its annual “With Thanks” charitable-giving campaign.
McConaughey and other volunteers prepared 800 turkey dinners, which were then delivered to more than 20 firehouses around L.A. The group also cooked and packaged an additional 800 dinners for area homeless shelters.
McConaughey took to Facebook Live to encourage donations nationwide throughout the year, making note of Operation BBQ’s current deployment to Northern California, where it also is providing hot meals to first responders battling wildfires.
