Amazon fires: France and Ireland threaten to block Brazil trade

Political pressure is growing on Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro to take more urgent action to control the fires that are burning in the Amazon.

Some European countries are talking about possibly blocking a free trade deal currently under negotiation. The Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar says Bolsonaro blaming environmental groups is ‘Orwellian’.
