China confirms British government worker detained

The Foreign Office says it is “extremely concerned” about a British consulate worker who is being detained by China.

Simon Cheng had not been seen for 13 days after he failed to return to Hong Kong from a work trip to China and the Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed he is being held for allegedly violating security laws.
